SYMPOIETIC is a collectively produced online platform initiated by Ernesto Solana, composed of a series of live-stream webcam feeds located across the globe. Conceived in collaboration with artists, researchers, and technologists, the project explores real-time entanglements between species, landscapes, and temporalities.
Drawing from the concept of sympoiesis—a term popularized by biologist Lynn Margulis and further developed by theorist Donna Haraway to describe systems that evolve through collective making with others—SYMPOIETIC proposes a decentralized observatory where human and more-than-human worlds co-emerge.
By bringing together disparate webcams, from remote forests and underwater reefs to urban ecologies and migratory paths, the platform creates a continuous, living tapestry of planetary co-existence. It invites viewers to attune to the subtle flows of interdependence, presence, and becoming, beyond borders and beyond control.
